THEME OF THE MONTH
This month we will be talking about values. This is something we all install in our children and we here at MMA hope that we are reinforcing the values already being taught at home.
STUDENT OF THE
MONTH
Congratulations to Dylan Lore, our Student of the Month! Dylan has only been with us a short time, but has really given a lot to classes and participation in all events. Way to go!
AMP STUDENT OF THE MONTH
GREAT JOB, Hunter Barbree! Hunter is AMP’s student of the month. He works really hard on his karate is very polite and tries hard to participate in all events all while actively playing football! GOOD JOB!
SAVE THE DATE
Our annual Camp Out and clinic will be November 12th and 13th. Please ask Dot for the number to Ocean Grove RV Resort to reserve your RV or Tent site. You do not have to camp to come for the day and do the clinic. Clinic apps will be out later this month. Please let us know if you have any questions.
BREAKING SEMINAR
We will be holding a breaking seminar on Saturday, October 30th at 11:30AM. This is a week before the GUP test and an excellent time to start learning the art of breaking. This is a great seminar to take even if you are not breaking on the test. You will learn the fundamentals of breaking, and everyone will get to break one real board! Cost is $10 for Leaders $15 for Masters and $20 for anyone else who would like to attend.
Open Tournament
We will be holding an Open Tournament on Saturday, October 9, 2010. It will be at the Lakeside Jr. High School Gymnasium. Applications have been e-mailed and are also available on our website and at the front counter. Everyone is welcome to compete. Divisions begin with Tiny Tigers and go up to Black Belt. We also have a creativity division that you can do alone or with a group. The Open Tournament is great way to build confidence and skill as we practice here and they practice at home for the competition. Please ask if you have any questions. Also, if you have the time and are interested we are always looking for helpers for this event. Please remember that 10/7 is the last day to register and the fee is $40.
CLUB THEME
All club members will be working on breaking or knife on Mondays and Tuesdays and Sparring on Wednesday and Thursday. Everyone who has to break or spar on the next GUP test is also able to work on these skills during club time during this month.
HALLOWEEN PARTY
Please join us for our Halloween Party on Saturday, October 30th from 7PM until 10PM. This party is always a lot of fun with costume contests, food and games. We ask that everyone bring a dish to share and we are already taking donations of candy and small prizes to hand out to the kids playing the games. Thank you to Ann Cejka, she is the first person to bring in donations! Lisa Druhan will be calling or e-mailing people for help at this event. Volunteers are what make our events so fun! The more help we have the less everyone has to do and the more fun we all have.

PARENTS CLUB NEWS
Penny wars are BACK! We will be having another war of the Black Belts; proceeds will benefit ALL students going to Black Belt Camp. Starts 10/4!
We need volunteers to help run these events;
· GUP Test food sales
· Possible car wash
· Future fundraisers (Chili Cook Off)
· Penny War money counters
Our Wal-mart Demo is scheduled for 10/16 from 9:30AM until 1:30PM. You do not have to be there the whole time but if every parent and student did just one hour that would be GREAT!
Any questions or suggestions please e-mail Joanne Manzi at jmmanzi@fdn.com.
Referral Contest
Be watching! We will announce our new referral contest at the Halloween Party!
