THEME OF THE MONTH

Now that we have learned about priorities we will be following that up with some goal setting. We are asking that students please write down three goals and turn them in. Tiny Tiger and Little Dragon students need to do one goal and turn it in. Please go over the goals with your children and maybe have them post it on the fridge as we will be working on them all year. They will also be writing their testing paragraph on goals so make sure they keep a copy.

STUDENT OF THE

MONTH

Many congratulations to Lauren Patterson, Student of the Month! Lauren is super polite and helpful; she also is always on the honor roll and attends as many events as possible. Way to go Lauren!

AMP STUDENT OF THE MONTH

Congrats to Kalani Robles! Kalani is the AMP Student of the Month. Kalani always has good manners and tries his hardest in class. He is also willing to help out when asked. GREAT JOB!

Written Tests

Please be prepared for the written tests on 1/19 and 1/20.

Parent Coaching Week

Parents this is your chance to shine! During the week of 1/10 through 1/13 you can get on the mat and help “coach” your child's class. This can give you a lot of insight on how to help your child at home and the correct way to hold pads. This can also be a great bonding experience for you and your child. Sharing the journey to Black Belt is always a great experience. Please try to make arrangements to come to your child's class and come out on the mat and help “coach” class!

Breaking /Bring a Friend

We will be having a special breaking/bring a friend seminar on January 29th. This will be a fun seminar where all of the basics of board breaking will be taught. There is no cost for this seminar if you bring a friend, however, if you are unable to get a friend to come you can still attend for regular pricing. Leaders $10, Masters $15, and anyone else who would like to attend $20. If you are bringing a friend they need to have a parent present or a signed permission slip. Permission slips are available at the front counter.

CLUB THEME

Club members will be working on staff and breaking this month. Please have your staff with you when you come to class if you are in club. Leaders will be learning the sword form with Master Lappin on the 7th and Masters will be grappling on the 25th. Both of these classes start at 6PM and end at 7PM. Leaders are welcome and encouraged to come to the Masters event also. Please call with any questions.

PRE-TESTING

We hope everyone read the important e-mail about the new policy for pre-testing. If you have not, please ask at the front counter for a copy. We want to get everyone on the same page. Thanks for your cooperation.

OPEN TOURNAMENT

Applications for our next Open Tournament have been e-mailed, are available on the website, or can be picked up at the front counter. PARENTS CLUB NEWS

The Coach Purse was awarded to Ms. Crystal at the Promotion Party.

We are seeking volunteers to help work the food stand at the next GUP test on February 5th. If you can donate an hour of your time that would be great.

We will also be asking for food donations in the next 2 weeks for the sale on 2/5. We will be needing hot dogs and buns, water, Gatorade, etc. We will e-mail a list closer to the date.

Wal-mart demos will be starting up again soon. We will publish the dates as soon as we have them. Please consider donating some time for an hour or two at one of these events. All monies go back to students.

As always we have our window decals for sale and we are always looking for suggestions for fundraisers.

Any questions or suggestions please e-mail Joanne Manzi at jmmanzi@fdn.com.

It Is Not Too Late!

Would you still like to qualify for the VIPizza Party? Well, you still have a chance. The party is scheduled for January 15th. To qualify you need to do a character building sheet, eat 30 servings of fruits and veggies in one week and write it down to turn in, do the dependability worksheet and practice at least 3x per week for one month and have your parent sign it. Once you have done these things and turned them all in you will be able to invite 10 of your friends and come to the party. Don't miss the fun. Best of all it is FREE!
